Bachelor of Design (B.Des)
Applicants must achieve a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Class XII, including English and three subjects of their choice. Subjects where internal marks are 50% or lower are excluded from the calculation.

To begin your application, you must first register on our online admissions portal.
Go to : applications.jklu.edu.in- Click on “Register”
- Enter your basic details (name, email ID, mobile number)
- Create a password and verify your email/OTP
Once registered, you can log in anytime to continue or review your application.

Accept Offer
of Admission
After logging in, fill out the application form carefully.
You will need to provide:- Personal and contact information
- Academic background and marksheets
- Program and specialisation preferences
- Details of any entrance exams taken (if applicable)
- Upload scanned documents (photograph, signature, academic certificates)
Make sure all details are accurate before proceeding.

Pay the
Application Fee
To submit your application, you must pay the non-refundable application fee as per the specific programme.
- Payments can be made online via net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.
- A receipt will be generated and emailed to you upon successful payment.

Appear for Faculty
Interaction
Once your application is complete, the admissions team will contact you to schedule a faculty interaction—an informal interview to understand your interests, motivations, and aptitude for the program.
This step is mandatory and helps us assess your fitness for the JKLU experience.

Entrance Examination
(If Applicable)
Depending on the program you’re applying for, you may need to appear for a relevant entrance exam:
- B.Tech: JEE Main
- B.Des: JKLU Design Entrance Test (JK-DET) + Portfolio Review
- BBA: No entrance test required. Admissions based on past academic record and faculty interaction.

Admission
If you are shortlisted, you will receive a Provisional Offer of Admission by email, which includes:
- Your program details
- Fee structure
- Deadline for confirming admission

Your Admission
- Accept the offer by logging into the admissions portal
- Pay the admission confirmation fee within the specified timeline
You will then receive further instructions for the onboarding and induction process.

Entrance Exam
The JKLU Design Entrance Test (DET) is a national-level examination conducted by JK Lakshmipat University to assess the design aptitude of candidates seeking admission to its undergraduate (B.Des) and postgraduate (M.Des) design programs. The test evaluates candidates’ creativity, logical reasoning, and general awareness to ensure their suitability for the design curriculum at JKLU.
The details of the exam pattern are as follows
- Candidates will be given 90 minutes to complete the exam.
- The written exam will have a total of 100 marks.
The entrance exam will have two sections
- 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) assessing logical reasoning, general knowledge, and visual sensitivity.
- 2 Subjective Questions evaluating creative abilities and problem-solving skills.

- Logical Reasoning: Questions designed to assess the candidate’s ability to analyze patterns, sequences, and logical connections.
- General Knowledge: Questions covering current affairs, design history, and general awareness related to art and culture.
- Visual Sensitivity: Questions evaluating the candidate’s perception of visual elements, including color, shapes, and spatial relationships.
- Creative Abilities: Tasks requiring candidates to demonstrate originality and innovation in design concepts.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Scenarios where candidates must propose design solutions to given problems, showcasing their analytical and creative thinking.
